Regional Education South Australia

Do you live in regional SA? We have partnered with Sport SA to deliver subsidised education across our state, with a focus on the regions. In the coming months, we are visiting the South East, the Riverland, Roxby Downs and Whyalla. This education is ideal for those living in the region, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge to promote a safer sporting and active environment. The Sideline Help and Concussion Workshop introduces attendees to a range of injury prevention and management principles. Including soft and hard tissue injury management, on/off field injury assessments, concussion management, wound management and more. 1825	Level 2 Sports Trainers Course / February	Saturday February 8 2025	09:30	16:00	New SASI/ORSR Complex	Register Now	Date: Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of February 2025 Time: SAT 9:30am - 4:00pm / SUN 9:30am - 4:00pm (approx) Venue: New SASI/ORSR Complex, Mile End Cost: $375 To complete a Level 2 Sports Trainers Accreditation Trainers must: Must attend each day of the course Have completed 12 months or 50 hours working as an Accredited Level 1 Sports Trainer (to be completed by the first day of the course) Be a current Accredited Level 1 Sports Trainer with SASMA or SMA Have a current Applied First Aid & CPR Certificate (with a minimum of 3 months validity) Current Asthma First Aid for Sport Certificate (Asthma Australia) - Asthma First Aid for Sport \| Asthma Australia (asthmaonline.org.au) Play By the Rules Online Training Certificate (to be completed by the first day of the course) To gain your Play by The Rules certificate visit Catalogue Entries (sportintegrity.gov.au) and complete 'Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport' & 'Harassment and Discrimination" Training packages.

Participants will be introduced to pre-event massage and using rollers. The workshop will include demonstrations and practical elements, manual and roller techniques. Ric is a highly experienced Remedial and Sports Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with various sports teams and elite athletes in Adelaide. His expertise lies in the management and rehabilitation of sports injuries. In addition to his practical work, Ric has also shared his knowledge by teaching Remedial Massage at the Australian Institute of Fitness. With his extensive experience and teaching background, Ric is a trusted and skilled professional in his field.

Register below for this community workshop to hear the latest advice on the *invisible injury,* recognising the signs and symptoms, and understand the role we ALL have in managing Concussion in community sport. Pathway to the Podium - Brisbane '32 - An Athlete's Journey: Follow a 12-year-old as they navigate sport, injuries and life with the support of a multi-d team. We are excited to announce guest speaker, Dr David Hughes, the Australian Sports Institute Chief Medical Officer, will be joining us. The Conference will bring together a range of Sports Medicine Professionals, Students, Sports Trainers, as well as the wider sporting community together for what will be a fantastic day of education and networking.
