The Level 2 Sports Trainer course is designed to build upon skills learnt in the Level 1 Sports Trainer Course. Couple with industry experience, the Level 2 Sports Trainer course involves a number of modules that aim to improve a trainer's skills and knowledge of the provision of first aid and sports medicine services.
Why become a Level 2 Sports Trainer?
This course allows trainers to develop their practical skills and knowledge of injury assessment and management.

*Note: Modules can be undertaken during first 12 months. However, accreditation will not be processed until 12 months has been completed.
All modules are delivered by qualified and experienced Sports Medicine Professionals (Doctors, Physiotherapist, Sports Scientist, Enrolled Nurse)
On successful completion of a SA Sports Medicine Association Trainers Course Accreditation lasts for 3 years. Course candidates will be eligible to apply for Sports Trainer Membership and insurance through SASMA.

The AFL acknowledges SA Sports Medicine Association’s long term and on-going and commitment to quality sports trainer education. SASMA is an AFL approved provider of Level 1 & Level 2 Sports Trainers and Emergency Response Coordinators courses. Graduates of these courses will be entitled to recognition by the AFL as having obtained the necessary skills to provide trainer services at the relevant level of the qualification to Australian Football games and training sessions.
Prerequisites are:
- Minimum 50 hours or 12 months as an Accredited Level 1 Sports Trainer
- Current Provide First Aid and CPR Certificates (with 3 months validity)

- Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction
