1819	Level 1 Sports Trainers Course / February	Sunday February 2 2025	09:30	16:30	NEW SASI/ORSR Complex	Register Now	To achieve the Level 1 Sports Trainers Accreditation participants will need to complete 2 components: Online Course component to be completed prior to practical day (sent upon registration) Complete full day practical assessment session in person You must complete all components to become an Accredited Sports Trainer plus provide evidence of current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011 - valid for 3 years) & CPR (HLTAID009- valid for 12 months) certificates. DATE: Sunday 2nd of February 2025 TIMES: 9:30am - 4:30pm (approx) VENUE: NEW SASI Complex, 145B Railway Terrace, Mile End TICKETS: Standard - $299.00 The Level 1 Sports Trainer assists athletes in the prevention of injuries and provides initial sports injury management. Level 1 Sports Trainers work at sporting clubs, school sports days, national and international events. You will cover the following topics: · Introduction to being a Sports Trainer · Functional Anatomy and Injury Management · Injury Prevention · Medical Conditions · Trunk Injuries · Concussion · Head and Spinal Injuries · Wound Management for Sport · Moving the Injured Athlete · Ankle, Thumb and Finger Taping · Upper Limb and Lower Limb Injuries On successful completion of a SASMA Sports Trainers course? A National Accreditation lasts for 3 years and is issued on successful completion of the course. On Successful completion of the SASMA Sports Trainers courses candidates become a SASMA Sports Trainer Member, opening up a range of benefits, including discounted events and courses, including the annual Conference, paid opportunities, mentoring, and more. This education is ideal for those living in the region, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge to promote a safer sporting and active environment. Thank you to the Limestone Coast LGA, SANFL, Sport SA, MediPro Sports Tape & Medical and the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing for their support of this education. The Sideline Help and Concussion Workshop introduces attendees to a range of injury prevention and management principles. Including soft and hard tissue injury management, on/off field injury assessments, concussion management, wound management and more. 1825	Level 2 Sports Trainers Course / February	Saturday February 8 2025	09:30	16:00	New SASI/ORSR Complex	Register Now	Date: Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of February 2025 Time: SAT 9:30am - 4:00pm / SUN 9:30am - 4:00pm (approx) Venue: New SASI/ORSR Complex, Mile End Cost: $375 To complete a Level 2 Sports Trainers Accreditation Trainers must: Must attend each day of the course Have completed 12 months or 50 hours working as an Accredited Level 1 Sports Trainer (to be completed by the first day of the course) Be a current Accredited Level 1 Sports Trainer with SASMA or SMA Have a current Applied First Aid & CPR Certificate (with a minimum of 3 months validity) Current Asthma First Aid for Sport Certificate (Asthma Australia) - Asthma First Aid for Sport \| Asthma Australia (asthmaonline.org.au) Play By the Rules Online Training Certificate (to be completed by the first day of the course) To gain your Play by The Rules certificate visit Catalogue Entries (sportintegrity.gov.au) and complete 'Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport' & 'Harassment and Discrimination" Training packages.

Pathway to the Podium - Brisbane '32 - An Athlete's Journey: Follow a 12-year-old as they navigate sport, injuries and life with the support of a multi-d team. We are excited to announce guest speaker, Dr David Hughes, the Australian Sports Institute Chief Medical Officer, will be joining us. The Conference will bring together a range of Sports Medicine Professionals, Students, Sports Trainers, as well as the wider sporting community together for what will be a fantastic day of education and networking.
