AGM 2016 – Guest Speakers Keren Faulkner and Kieran Modra AM

SASMA are pleased to announce Keren Faulkner and Kieran Modra AM as guest speakers for our Annual General Meeting coming up on Monday 7th November 2016.

Keren is a Specialist Sports Physiotherapist and after 8 years at the Australian Institute of Sport has moved back to Adelaide. Keren is the Manager of Performance Services for the Australian Paralympic Committee and has recently returned from the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. She has built a very impressive CV with involvement with some of Australia’s best teams and athletes.

Keren is currently involved with the following Teams and Associations:
-Australian Commonwealth Games Medical Commission member

-Australian Paralympic Team Physical Therapies Manager – Rio 2016
-Australian para-cycling team physiotherapist
-Fellow, Australian College of Physiotherapists
-Member, SA Sports Medicine Association

Kieran is a vision impaired five time Paralympic gold medallist who, with Keren, has recently returned from the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.  Kieran, with a career spanning two decades, is one of the most decorated and respected members of the Australian track cycling team and has competed many times as a Paralympian and at various sporting championships.

Kieran interestingly
competed in his first Games as a Swimmer in Barcelona in 1992 where he won two bronze medals. With a switch to cycling in Atlanta in 1996, he secured his maiden Paralympics gold with wife Kerry as pilot in the 200m mixed tandem sprint. Kieran has won gold for his classification in his pet event, the 4000m individual pursuit, at the past three Games.
