SASMA is proud to present a fantastic line up of speakers for the 2016 Members Conference. Below is a profile on Dr David Spurrier who will be discussing the prevention of adolescent sport injuries and presenting a workshop with Keren Faulkner which will focus on MSK Issues in active adolescents.
Dr David Spurrier, APA Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapist, has completed a Clinical Doctorate in Physiotherapy through La Trobe University and has a research interest on tendon, bone and children/adolescent injury.
He completed a Master of Physiotherapy at UniSA in both Sports and Musculoskeletal physiotherapy in 1995 and has continued to lecture and tutor in this internationally recognised course on clinical exercise prescription, tendon and bone injuries, clinical pathophysiology and sports physiotherapy.
David has worked extensively with athletes at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) and was a physiotherapist at the 1996 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and the past four Paralympic Games and is currently a team physiotherapist to Australian Swimming.
