On Monday the 13th of November, the SA Sports Medicine Association held its 2023 Annual General Meeting at the Lion Hotel, North Adelaide. The evening was an important one, to reflect on the successes of the 2022-23 financial year, discuss the future strategic direction of the organisation, as well as elect the Council Members for 2024.
We are thrilled to announce that
Mrs Keren Faulkner has been elected in the role of President, working closely with her fellow Council Members and Staff in furthering the progression of SASMA moving forward.
Dr Luke Mooney moved the position of Immediate Past President on the Council, we would like to thank Dr Mooney for him immense contributions and leadership over the past two years, guiding SASMA through a challenging period, guiding the organisation into a positive position for 2024 and beyond.
Dr Janet Young will move from a regular Council Member to the role of Treasurer/Secretary for 2023-2024.
We are pleased to welcome two new members to the SASMA Council –
Dr Karthik Badrinath, Sports and Exercise Specialist Physician &
Dr Brett Slarks, Sports Doctor and General Practitioner – Karthik and Brett join the Council at an exciting time for SASMA, we are pleased to have their expertise and insight as part of the team moving forward.
They will join continuing members,
Olivia Warnes,
Mat Prior,
Lisa Feleppa and
Jared Strawbridge and we thank all for their ongoing commitment.
We encourage you to reach out to your Council Members, they play an important role for the direction of SASMA, volunteering their time to support the organisation.
