The 2019 Sports Medicine in General Practice course commenced on Thursday 2nd of May and after 3 and a half days of learning and discussions the 2019 Sports Medicine in General Practice Course has come to an end.
Musculoskeletal medicine is the third most common presentation in General Practice. This course is targeted at improving GP’s examination, diagnostic and management skills in the area of musculoskeletal and sports medicine.
This year the course was coordinated by SA Sports Doctor, Dr Marc Cesana. Through this 3 and a half day course there was plentiful opportunity to learn from nationally recognised experts across the Sports Medicine disciplines, and was an excellent opportunity to network with leading MSK Physicians and Surgeons in Adelaide.
The course provided GP’s with an excellent introduction to Sports Medicine focusing on muscular skeletal examination, diagnostic and management techniques for both common and complex sports injuries.
The course was focused around the use of Case Studies and practical components with a series of lectures and demonstrations.
The participants had many interactive sessions with the ability to ask all questions sports medicine!
Now it is time for the GP’s to implement all those tools they learnt into their practices!
