The 2017 SA Sports Medicine Association’s Members Education Series kicked off at the beginning of May with our first session on “To Screen or Not to Screen: Is Screening Relevant?”.

The evening started with Hunter Bennett presenting on functional movement and the sports science perspective on screening. This was followed up with Tim Bass and Dr Mark Fisher presenting the physiotherapy and medical perspectives respectively. We were lucky enough to have the Head Coach of the SASI Rowing program, Jason Lane, bringing everything together and sharing the coach’s perspective on screening.

As has become a feature of the SASMA Members Education evenings the night ended with a some really good discussions with all presenters participating in a panel discussion.

The SASMA Education Committee really hit the mark with this session with over 80 people either attending at Prince Alfred College or joining online via the live webcast from across the disciplines.

The live webcast is a continued service being offered to Members in 2017, so if you are not able to make it to a session then register to view it live from your practice or at home.

Members are able to access the video of this session and other sessions SASMA have run by logging into the website and going to the Media Library.
